Former COC player Sopoaga traded to Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles sent Isaac Sopoaga, a 10th-year veteran nose tackle, to the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Only one deal was made on a very quiet NFL trade deadline on Tuesday.

That deal happened to involve former College of the Canyons star Isaac Sopoaga.

The Philadelphia Eagles sent the veteran nose tackle, along with a 2014 sixth-round draft pick, to the New England Patriots in exchange for a 2014 fifth-round pick.

The Eagles confirmed the deal, which was made shortly before this season’s trade deadline at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.

The 6-foot-2, 330-pound defensive lineman spent the first nine seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers before he was picked up by the Eagles as a free agent prior to this season.

He signed a three-year, $ 11 million deal and played all eight of Philadelphia’s games so far this season. He has 18 tackles.
